Trip Highlights

APPLICATION

Submit prior to 11/1/19 to receive Early Bird Discount of $100

  • Visit historical sites, art shows, art projects and schools in Havana, learn alongside local students 
  • Interact with officials and representatives of foreign embassies, gain substantive insight on the current state of international affairs
  • Explore thermal and mineral springs, caves, underground rivers
  • Learn permaculture and organic farming in the Pinar del Rio region, visit sugar, tobacco and coffee plantations.
  • Beach time  
  • Perform community service work on an organic farm

Itinerary 

  • Day 1 (March 13th)- Landing in Havana. Transport to apartments. Break, refreshments. Dinner with young people from Havana. Ojo Ciclone art show. Havana by night
  • Day 2 (March 14th)- Havana by day - visiting historical sites, old plazas, embassies, learning from local students-guides, visiting famous Fabrica de la Arte
  • Days 3 - 6 (March 15th- 17th) Venturing out to the country side for workshops and projects about organic farming and permaculture; visiting thermal and mineral springs, caves, sugar, coffee and tobacco plantations. Beach time and horse back riding.
  • Days 7-8 (March 18th-19th) - back to Havana. Art and music projects, interactions and language exhcnage with local students and artists. Visit to Fusterlandia - mosaic village. Last night dance party
  • Day 9th (March 20th)- Breakfast, airport, back home

Tuition: $2,000 (*airfare is not included)

Rules: 
Application process opens on May 1, 2019. Application fee is refundable if enrollment in the Program is not granted by Antinanco Earth Arts School.  Early Enrollment Discount applies if Application is submitted before September 1, 2019.  Interviews are conducted in September -December 2019.  First tuition payment of $1,000 is due by December 1, 2019.  The remaining tuition balance of $1,000 is due by February 10, 2020.  Tuition payments are not refundable after January 1, 2020.

Applications will be carefully reviewed and students will be selected based on their maturity, enthusiasm, motivation and willingness to participate constructively in a diverse international group environment. 
​
Accommodations are comfortable and shared. We will be staying in private apartments. Full breakfasts, opening and closing dinners and lunch with farmers while on the farm will be provided. The remaining meals are the responsibility of the participants. 
​
International Medical Insurance will be provided by Antinanco Earth Arts School. Participants are advised to obtain trip cancellation insurance prior to the trip.
