For High School Seniors and Undergraduate-Level Students:

Students are invited to participate in the American Chestnut Tree Conservation Field Course. The course will be based on the American Chestnut Tree Conservation Field Course Manual and is comprised of four online classes and four field sessions in Bath and Bangor, PA, in September and October of 2021.  The course is intended for students wishing to gain foundational knowledge about the history and plight of American Chestnut Trees as well as their care and maintenance. Other topics include the trees' importance in in the northeastern ecosystem, the impact of its demise on other species, and symbiotic relationships with companion plans and fungi.  Each lesson will include a set of tasks and eight assignments.  Material retention testing is built into the course.
