American Chestnut Tree Conservation Field Course
For Undergraduate-Level Students:
Students are invited to participate in the American Chestnut fieldwork course. The course will be based on the American Chestnut Tree Conservation Field Course Manual. The course comprises of eight lessons which will be offered during the tree planting events and tree inspections during the spring and fall semesters of 2021 academic year. The course is intended for students wishing to gain a foundation knowledge about the history and plight of the American Chestnut tree, tree care and maintenance, as well as the trees' importance in in the northeastern ecosystem, the impact of its demise on other species, and symbiotic relationships with companion plans and fungi. Each lesson will include a set task and eight assignments. The course will have assessment tests built in.
