Classes and Workshops

This is a full day program that will include outdoor classes, hiking, foraging, learning awareness in nature, identifying plants and mushrooms, tracking animals and foraging.

We will meet at the Tom's Creek Picnic Area parking lot of the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area at 8am. https://www.nps.gov/dewa/planyourvisit/toms-creek-trail.htm

From there we will ascend to a pristine area replete with active Beaver Dams and natural ponds; explore the unique habitats of the escarpment including Hemlock and White Pine groves within the mixed hardwood forest; and search for signs of other interesting native organisms such as Ruffed Grouse, Wild Turkey, and Reindeer Moss. Along the way we will learn about some of the various plants and animals that live here and identify wild edibles to forage.
